Didier de Villiers understands that what we wear says a lot about who we are. He is the man behind Magents, one of South Africa’s leading fashion brands. The clothing company came about in the early 90s, when his country was reeling from the end of apartheid and rediscovering itself as a nation. Didi saw creative expression as a way to heal wounds, bring unity, and form a uniquely South African identity. He used his God given gifts of design to create clothing that captured the spirit of the South African youth. The brand spread beyond his home and beyond the African continent, garnering attention from more traditional fashion hot spots in Europe and the United States. But Didi never lost his vision, a relentless commitment to telling the African story through uniquely African streetwear.
