Pieter Faure

Pieter Faure is the Chief Executive Officer of Mergon – an entrepreneurial investment company that exists to create Kingdom impact and inspire others to do the same. Pieter’s leadership has been instrumental in establishing Ziwani, an initiative of Mergon that seeks to strengthen and connect the Christian business community as they live out their marketplace calling in unique contexts on the African continent.
Pieter obtained a law degree from the University of Pretoria before commencing his professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He proceeded to study accountancy at the University of Johannesburg and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2002. After completing his articles Pieter specialised in corporate international tax at PwC. Just when it seemed his career would focus on corporate tax, he felt a calling to a more entrepreneurial future and joined seasoned entrepreneur and philanthropist Francois van Niekerk in 2005, initially as financial director in Francois’ technology business, Infotech.
In time Pieter took over the management of Francois’ investment interests as well as the Mergon Foundation which he founded in 1980, to form Mergon in 2008.
Since then, Pieter and the Mergon team have grown in impact and reach. Pieter considers it one of his life’s greatest joys and privileges to be able to partner with like-minded entrepreneurs who bring change and redemptive impact to the world around them.
